Background:
Liver X receptors (LXRs) are oxysterol activated
nuclear  receptors  which  are  involved  in  the
regulation  of  genesis  and  metabolism  of
cholesterols  and  bile  acids.  LXRs  form
heterodimeric  complexes  with  the  retinoic  acid
receptors  (RARs)  once  activated  by  their
respective  oxysterol  ligands.  Two  known
isoforms,  alpha  and  beta,  are  differentially
expressed;  the  alpha  isoform  is  predominantly
expressed in liver, whereas the beta isoform has
been shown to be expressed ubiquitously.
 
Specificity:
The  antibody  detects  64  kDa  and  80  kDa
proteins  representing  the  alpha  and  beta
subunits of human LXR. 
 
Species Reactivity:
Human. Other species not tested. 
Immunogen:
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 435 of
human LXR.

Format:
100  μg  (0.5 mg/mL  solution)  of  antigen  affinity
purified  rabbit  antibody  in  PBS,  pH  7.2,
containing  50  glycerol,  0.02  sodium  azide
with protein stabilizer.
 
Storage:
Store  at  -20°C.  For  best  results,  aliquot  and
store at -70°C to avoid repeat freeze/thaw cycles.
 
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:.

  Western blots: Use at 2-6 μg/mL. 
The  optimal  dilution  for  a  specific  application
should be determined by the researcher.
